The Matador I launched at the IAA in 1955, which at first was fitted with a 24 HP Heinkel engine, later had the 4-cylinder in line engine with 48 HP which was in many Austin A 50 motorcars.  The plans for a follow-up model in 1962 came to grief after the Hamburg storm tide of that year which destroyed the factory.  Just twelve months later, the Matador was discontinued.
